Review:

This story has been refreshingly new to me with Jared Bennett as a king of an Alien race and in exile on Earth, leading a war against the Antousians. Hurt and bleeding Jared finds himself in the company of a woman and with no other choice he leaves valuable information inside of her. This is the start of something bigger, something that started a long time ago which is slowly revealed and forever changes the lives of Jared and Kelsey.

With the prologue Deidre Knight captured a revealing moment between a youthful king and a young woman where she created the foundation for an engrossing love story!! Though I’m not an avid reader of futuristic elements in a story, Parallel attraction compelled me to read on for Jared is the kind of man that keeps a woman’s attention. He is a warrior, a king, but with a gentler side and he has moments where things are so new to him he gets confused. Together with Kelsey he experiences many emotions and their dynamic is one I loved from the first moments luring me into this story with a love that crosses the barriers of worlds.

The set-up of the Refarian world and their people is well described and Deidre Knight plays with a timeline theory and still manages to keep it understandable for the reader, this is important because it is key to the plot. The Refarian people are different in a lot of ways, still they vibrate a beauty which makes me immediately relate to the feelings of Kelsey for this amazing man that captures her on such a deep level and grows into something more than she ever imagined she could feel. With a supporting cast of characters that leaves a strong impression but never takes the attention away from the main couple it adds to the impact of the story.

Because of the compelling story telling of the author you’re open to a lot of information, accepting it as a part of this world. With a plot that holds me in its grip it kept me flipping the pages, wondering what twist Deidre Knight would give it and I can say she surprised me with a theory that adds a whole new dimension to it making me eager to know the how and why of it all.

The imagination of Deidre Knight is one that I enjoyed from start till finish, giving me something new and exciting to look forward to as other warriors will certainly want their own story told!
