Summary:

Though DarkRiver sentinel Mercy is feeling the pressure to mate, she savagely resists when Riley Kincaid, a lieutenant from the SnowDancer pack, tries to possess her. The problem is not simply that he pushes her buttons; the problem is that he’s a wolf, she’s a cat, and they’re both used to being on top.

But when a brilliant changeling researcher is kidnapped from DarkRiver territory, Mercy and Riley must work together to track the young man—before his shadowy captors decide he’s no longer useful. Along the way, the two dominants may find that submitting to one another uncovers not just a deadly conspiracy, but a passion so raw that it’ll leave them both branded by fire…

I have had the privilege to review BRANDED BY FIRE for Realms On Our Bookshelves and thought I would give you a teaser on my blog and for the full review ~CLICK HERE~

Branded By Fire is the sixth full length novel in the Psy/Changeling series of Nalini Singh and after I finished reading it I wondered; “Why should I be surprised to, once more, bring a serenade to this series?” After 5 novels it is not only the imagination or writing skill of an author that weighs heavily in how a story is experienced. It is also the fact that I care so much about the DarkRiver and SnowDancer pack, the recurrence of beloved characters who shape, form and give such a distinctive feeling to these novels. It is difficult to keep a series on such a constant level for the reader, but Nalini Singh pulls it off and she delivers another incredible tale with Branded By Fire.

Quote Mercy:

“But Riley, I’ll only bend so far. You can’t meet me halfway, this will end. It wasn’t a threat. No, it was something far more important. And he understood. I’ll try, Mercy. I’ll give it everything I have.” It was a raw promise, from the heart of a wolf, from the soul of a man.

  1. Hey Hon.

    Morning..

I did have a read of the review, I like -I have to admit, I am probably one of the few people who haven't gone past half of the first book.

But I am definately caught up in this five book..

And I am liking Mercy's wish list for a guy..

Dumb as ass - but good in the sack - I need nothing else..

  4. OMG I'm dying, DYING for this book! Fantastic Review Leontine! As always. ;)

Ever since I discovered that 'Branded by Fire' was going to have two changelings as the H/h, I've been quivering to get my hands on it. All the reviews so far have been amazing and I'm pretty much gaurenteed to once again be blown away by Nalini Singh. I'm still in shock that we're getting three full length novels from the woman. And I'm still buzzing over 'Angels' Blood'! I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!!!

Okay, I'm going to get myself under control. Sorry for going all fangirl on you Leontine.

    ;) VFG

  5. Hi guys,
I've been away for the day but had to leave this post so you gals had something new from me this day...and it was good stuff wasn't it! ;D

E.H. -> There comes a time in a woman's life all she needs is stamina and a hot rock hard body...simple needs, simple desires no complications. I loved Mercy and that moment from the quote she already had me...and this was like on page 2.

    Mandi -> I don't think...I know. ‘s all I'm saying....devour him as soon as you can!

Tracy -> I'm glad we share the love and looking forward to hearing you on this book.

VFG -> you can always show your fangirl side here! And I'm with you I so heart Nalini Singh, each time I open up her latest novel and think; is she going to pull it off again? And each time I close the book and think; Crap another winner on her hand...what to write now that doesn't sound like the rest of my reviews LOL But each novel has its own distinctive story and leading pair so there are always different thing to tell...otherwise I would be quite a bore as a reviewer.
