Ode to Karen Moning week begins

A few months ago I thought: Wouldn’t it be great to have my own “Ode to..” weeks. A special week where I celebrate an author, genre, theme, friends et cetera. I was researching release date’s and I stumbled upon the release date of Dreamfever which got me to think about how I came across the highlander novels from Karen Moning. How I written my reviews in 2005/2006 (if you can call them that) and me mouthing off that certain series needed to be re-reviewed by me. Most of all I wanted to celebrate Karen Moning, her imagination, her writing, her worlds and characters. Her Highlander series is more romance driven while her Fever series is Urban Fantasy. I am fortunate I enjoy both genres and though I can still remember my review of Darkfever, my outcry where the romance was and how I enjoyed myself with Mac as a leading female protagonist.

Now I had myself this idea, it is easy for me to come up with ideas but to make them reality is something else. I had seven books to read and review, my summaries from 2005/2006 to edit a bit and create a banner. With ROOB, a TRP that claims me unapologetically and ARC’s to read and review I had much of my time already taken. But let’s be honest, I’m talking highlanders here, MacIllioch clan, MacKeltar clan and Fae, this is not a boring task to complete. I picked the week of the release of Dreamfever to celebrate Karen Moning and since on August 23rd I turn 33 *ssshhhhhh, don’t tell anyone else* I had my deadline figured out.

What will you find this week:

Each day I will post a review of the Highlander series:
Monday: Beyond The Highland Mist
Tuesday: To Tame A Highland Warrior
Wednesday: The Highlanders Touch
Thursday: Kiss Of The Highlander
Friday: The Dark Highlander
Saturday: The Immortal Highlander
Sunday: Spell Of The Highlander
Monday: I hope to conclude this Karen Moning week with a review from Dreamfever { this depends soely on when my copy arrives} and I will announce the two winners from my giveaway.

I will also add/link my first written summaries for you to read from 2005/2006 and I will add fun facts and videos from Highlanders.

The giveaway.
My birthday is on Sunday 23rd of August and I wanted to share the celebration with you all. I will send one lucky person a hardback copy of Dreamfever and one lucky person a surprise present. I wonder if Tristan,Sam and Aidan have any plans for you ;)

I've heard of this author but haven't read any of her books. I've read some mixed reviews of The Fever series..so I've been hesitant to pick them up.

As for her Highland series, also new to me.
I'll have to check out all your reviews.

  5. We must be twins, or darn close. I was having a little mini KMM readathon weekend and was rereading all the Fae series, which then after our twitter convo, made me want to reread the Highlanders series. Vicious, vicious cyle.
