Help Wanted with blog - willing to bribe!

I am at the end of my wits here. For the past couple of months I have been trying to give my blog a third column, but to no avail. From my favorite self-help blog in all things HTML to creating a test blog and going from scratch to a pre-made Sand Dollar three column template…it all hasn’t worked in one form or another. My latest solution came from http://www.blogcrowds.com/ with a pre-made sand dollar template, I resigned to the fact I had to do my blog from scratch again, which I don’t mind as long as I get that freakin third column added to my blog. But I stumbled on to the fact it doesn’t repeat my background and which way I go I don’t get it, the shit doesn’t want to repeat itself. The thing is, I love the vibe of my blog, I love my header, the background to tweak it from time to time with other things and what I want is a screen wide blog as to the much seen smaller blogs. I am even considering calling defeat and making a call to Barbara asking if she can revamp my place *hangs head*

I think I have added 10 grey hairs over this issue, eaten a total of 4 chocolate bars, if looks could’ve killed my hubby would’ve been 6ft under for interfering me *eek* and a grand total of thirty hours wasted on this subject which I could have spend reading. My frustration is taking proportions that makes me say; enough…even you need a bit of help! So I really don’t know what to do here so I am grabbing my megaphone and shouting my cry for help…cause if someone could help me with a third column in Sand Dollar template I will be most grateful and I am willing to bribe with a few books for your time and energy!! So to the HTML queens or kings out there here me now as I cry: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I'd offer to help if I could, but I know nothing. Any changes done on mine have been done through the kindness of others. Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will hear your plea and come to the rescue

  2. I would love to help you but as you may have noticed I'm not sure I can. Ok I rephrase that: I'm sure I can't. Sorry, would love to help you. Hope you find someone soon. I'll cross my fingers for you.

  3. Could look Leontine!
HTML and stuff is a killer

  4. @Kristie - nonetheless, thanks for the support!! That also helps :)

@Susi - Thanks Susi, I just want that tiny thing done within Sand Dollar template and I failed each time...its just so frustrating while the rest of my blog I could figure out *headdesk*

@Tynga - Girl, if you could do it I would go out of my mind with joy, really.

    @Blodeuedd - Normally I can work HTML a bit but now...ARGH!!

  5. I came with something basic, It still needs some tweeking but here's what I've got so far:

I had to pick the harbor template instead, but it's also widescreen I hope it's ok!

  6. Hi Leontine!

Lea @ Closetwriter (http://lea-closetwriter.blogspot.com/) is excellent with code rewriting. She did my blog and several others across the blogosphere. She's such a sweetie!

    Dottie :)

  7. I am an absolute noob concerning blogs so I don't think I'll be able to do you any good on advice but uhm sweety, why mess with something that looks perfect?

  8. I might have found a solution for you, check out your email and let me know what you think!

  9. I don't know if you found something yet, but I have to also say Lea is really great with websites. Barbara too!!

  10. Tynga has been very supportive and generous with her time only for me to find out it is something apparantly pc related rather than in template. My testblog; http://www.leontinesbookrealm.blogspot.com shows a strip of one color and the bottom when I preview my blog, which made me believe the background wasn't repeated...I found out visitors like Tynga and my sister don't see that strip at the bottom. Just a repeated background like on this blog *headdesk* I feel like such a noob right now *headdesk*

So a huge tank you to Tynga for her time!!

  11. OH Honey... Check your email, I sent you something. Hope that helps!!!
Love ya hon! Have a great weekend!

  12. I feel your pain, Leontine. I'm a new blogger myself and have had many trials and errors (most recently with trying to add a css drop down menu. As you can see from my blog, I'm still trying to figure that one out). I've gotten tons of help from bloggerbuster.com under tutorials. Check it out before you pull your hair out :)

  13. Hon, I wish I could help you, but I still at war with my own blog and everything I know about HTLM codes you taught me....

But there must be someone out there who can help you?

    Hugs & xxx

  14. yay!!you got your 3 columns.looks good :)

  15. @Marissa - I found her!! and I think she done it in less than an hour *headdesk* I can work from here and first I have to resize some images but it looks good so far!! I was already having nightmares about complete tweaking my testblog again to what I have done with this original template. Ah, I don't have to tell you anything, you know how it goes *wink*

@Elain - I still need to do some tweaking but so far it is just what I wanted *grin*

If you want to know, I got an e-mail from Lea at http://lea-closetwriter(dot)blogspot(dot)com/ who was willing to look at my template and hence...a three column template YAY Me soooooo happy :D

  16. Well done on the three-column look! I am crap at all things web design-related. Heck, you provided me with the hex code for my blog's background colour - thanks again for that!

  17. Well, I'm a little late here and it looks to me your problems have solved. YAY! I like the three column layout you have now. Looks verra good.

In the future if you need any help please don't hesitate to email me, I'd be more than happy to help. HTML and web coding is kinda my thang. ;)

  18. I wish I could help, but I'm hopeless when it comes to html stuff. Good luck! (Your background is one of my favorites)

  19. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYYAYAY!! It came out wonderful!!! Happy Dance for you!!!

And before I forget, I am going to pimp out the Hawt Beefcake for tomorrow!
I hope you had a great weekend honey!!! And hope to catch up with you tomorrow!

  20. @SarahT - I thought I knew my way around but this three column thing kept my puzzled :( I should've given a shout out two months ago LOL

@Donna - I didn't know but I'll keep it in mind!! I think I may call on you a time or two in the future in stead of binging on chocolate LOL

@A Buckeye Girl - From the moment I made it I was smitten with my background and finally have pretty much the things I want with my blog though it is an ever changing progress in tweaking...I love to tweak :)

@Cecile - hey hon...you have vampires, I have a fabulous man from the past and i think VFG has herself another one of Meljeans books up...It is quite the party time in blogoverse!!

  21. I'm late to the party, seems you had help and it works :D Good for you!! :D

Seriously, modifying a two-columns template into a three-columns?!? That's one of the hardest thing to do. I did it and yeah, don't want to try it again!!

  22. Loving the three column and the silver looks good...

Congrats on finally getting it - even despite the bribe..

  23. I can't believe I missed this post, I was 2 seconds away from giving advice then I glanced to the right and left, realized you did! I not have 3 column blog envy :)

  24. @Nath - I so ditto that!! Never want to adjust anything in the blue print of my template again, just tweaking a bit.

@EH - Yeah, I just needed to have done this like two months ago, could've saved me a lot of frustration LOL

@smokinhotbooks - I am so happy with the additional space it is giving me. Now that the few images have also been adjusted to size I can work with adding a few things to sidebars again :)

I love to hear all your voices and opinions so thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
