Over the years' that I am reading  english romance novels I have gathered quite some quotes that made my heart soar. In random order I wanted to give you ten:

1. Karen Marie Moning - The Dark Highlander:

"If aught must be lost,
twill be my honours for yours,
If one must be forsaken, twill be my soul for yours,
Should death come anon, twill be my life for yours,
I am given…"

2. Sherrilyn Kenyon - Acheron:

He gave himself to her and for the first time, he understood the difference. He understood what it meant to make love. To share his body with someone not out of obligation or fear, but because it made them closer. In this one heartbeat, he was hers and she was his.

3. JR Ward - Lover Eternal:

Rhage sucked in a breath. In all his adult life, no female had ever called him a friend. Or valued his company for something other than sex. In the Old Language, he whispered, "I am barren of words, my female. For no sound from my mouth are worthy of your hearing."

4. Anna Windsor - Bound By Flame:

Just Cynda and Nick, Nick and Cynda, casting of heat like a star going nova.

5. Shannon McKenna - Standing In The Shadows:

Passion fused them together. All the truths of their hearts were known to each other. Nothing could be hidden, nothing held back. No boundaries, no borders. One being.

6. Lauren Dane – Undercover:

Quote Sera:
She loved them both achingly, deeply, and totally. The wondrous part was that she loved them both in completely different ways, and yet between them, they occupied the space inside her mind, inside her heart and soul.

7. Chris Owen – Bareback:

Quote Tor to Jake:
“This time…this time I’m offering Jake, if you want me, I’m yours. Do anything I can for you, be everything you need. Give myself to you forever.”

8. Lauren Dane – Laid Bare:

Quote Todd:
I love you and I’m not leaving you. I love that you see me, all of me, and you embrace it. I’m free to be what I am. You get me Erin. In a way no one ever has. I love you, all of you. I want you to share with me because you trust me to protect you, to take the pain and bear part of it.

9. Lora Leigh – Nauti Dreams:

Quote Natches:
And she had changed him. In that short time, she had erased the man he had been, and shown him the man he wanted to be. A man who was worthy of a woman that strong.

10. C.L. Wilson – Queen Of Song And Souls:

Quote Rain:
Spirit spun from his fingers in wild waves, and the river around them blazed with fiery light. Hands, teeth, tongues, lips, wings, talons, spirit bodies – both fey and Tairen – caressed and tormented her, claimed and plundered. Gone was the gentle lover. He poured out upon her his magic, his essence, the blazing need of his soul, the primal core of him that existed when all else was stripped away; pure, dominant, male energy, unyielding and fierce, aggressor and defender, protector and conqueror, the darkness to her light. Ours, his Tairen hissed. She is ours. Our mate. Our female. Our pride.

Now, who would you take to the Spring-Fling Ball to celebrate some hot sizzling romance?

  1. I love your quotes! Awesome! Great idea for a blog post.

  2. That Karen Marie Moning quote is one of my favorites, every time I read that scene (and trust me, I DO reread it, LOL) it makes me sigh.

Looking at your Rhage quote makes me want to go back and reread that book right now!

  3. Love the post. Acheron is my favorite quote, as it should be it being my favorite series:)

  4. "He gave himself to her and for the first time, he understood the difference."
I love this quote, and I think I may have to read this book as soon as possible. I only realised a short while ago that sleeping with someone is NOT the same as giving yourself to someone, and sharing yourself with them. And frankly, I am still a bit freaked out about how intense this intimacy can be!

  5. This comment has been removed by the author.

  6. I've read 4 out of the ten books you have listed here and I loved all four of the books but I think my favorite would have to be from The Dark Highlander. I've read that book 4 or 5 times and it gets better every time I read it. I would love to meet Dageus he sounds like the ultimate bad boy.

  7. The JR Ward quote makes my knees weak and the Acheron one brings me to tears. I'm guilty of reading the book more than once.

    cindyc725 at gmail dot com

  8. I love your quotes and my favorite is by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I love all her books, especially Acheron's and the quote just makes me remember his whole amazing story again. Love a bunch of the other quotes too!

    lilazncutie1215 @ yahoo.com

  9. Oh Ash!! I need to read his book again. You picked such great quotes!!!

Can I take JM to the fling? :)

  10. I have to say having only read 1 out of all the books you are quoting from and being in love with Sherrilyn Kenyons different series for years am going to pick Acheron to take to the Spring- Fling Ball, would have anyway he makes my heart sing when he finally becomes "whole and wholly free" to love and be loved.

Lucky me only have a few (X3) of the Swag so am looking forward to seeing who is lucky enough to get these great reads and you are a doll for doing this giveaway internationally!!! :-D

  11. I enjoyed the quotes and my favorite is Acheron's! The Dark-Hunter series is a must buy for me as well as Sherrilyn Kenyon as an author! tWarner419@aol.com

  12. *blows into hankie* I still haven't forgiven Tor, damn him (Bareback). The Acheron quote had my lower lip trembling what a book!

  13. I love all the quotes. I have only read 2 books(Laid Bare and Lover Eternal) out of them all.Now I must add the others to my TBB list. The Dark Highlander I still have to read from when you had them here.

Will the beefcake boys make an appearance at the spring fling? ;)

  14. Love Rhage's quote!
    Heaven't read the others yet.

  15. Lovely quotes :D
Take, as in anyone? Well then Richard Armitage's character Guy of Gisborne for sure

  16. Wow. You have great taste! The Acheron and Laid Bare quotes are wonderful "ah ha" moments we hope everyone in love will share. But the Dark Highlander quote is my favorite of these. It is so special--yearning, timeless and complete. It is perfect.

  17. I enjoyed reading the quotes...loved the one from Bareback.

I hope you had a great Easter weekend. I spent Friday & Saturday night with family...Sunday I literally bummed around and did nothing. ;-)

  18. Hey Leontine!!! I wanted to drop by to show my support to you for your party!!!! Honey, you know I love coming here and sometimes spending the night (for beekcake nights)... but most of all.. I stay cuz I luv ya!!! You are my sister of another world!

Now... as far as your party.. let's rock it out! Isn't that what we are here for!!!!!!
I have a few of those books.. but the hussy that I am.. I will be adding more to my list! Love ya honey!

  19. @Penelope - I love quotes and always try to add a few to my reviews. So after so many years I've got quite a few :)

@Patti - I just love the MacKeltar vow and it never fails to make my heart beat faster.

@Laurie - Acheron...if I had the time I would re-read that novel, for me part one was Kenyon at her best and part two was a lighter counter part. I really felt that quote...

@Alexandra - Books can sometimes really speak on a personal level!! I love it when that happens :)

@Sherry - I think I'm with you on the re-read count, these books just don't get boring and Dageus...he is one of my favorites too!

@I Heart Book Gossip - When I read that Rhage quote I felt his hooks sink into me...and he never let go :)

@Jeanette8042 - SK delivered quite a punch with Acheron, I couldn't get enough of his story.

@Mandi - JM is more than welcome *giggles* As i went through my quotes I found out I also have a tendency to lean more towards the more smutty quotes *grin*

@Jacibur1 - The moment sweet home alabama starts I know we're having us some Were-Hunters in the house and you've entered the stage with Acheron LOL

@Tetewa - I still need to read BAD MOON RISING *eek*

@Smokinghotbooks - *passes tissue box* I know you haven't forgiven Tor...and Acheron, yeah, don't we all know the crap he's gone through and to reach this moment was so incredible sweet!

@Elaing8 - When the A-TAC boys of Dee Davis are presented the Beefcake guys will be here again YAY They missed you all!

@Lucy - All in good time! You've got good things to look forward to if you decide to read any of the books I've quoted :)

@Blodeuedd - book boyfriend, actor, RL boyfriend, you chose the one to have fun with at the spring-fling ball LOL

@LSUReader - That vow has become synonomous with the MacKeltar clan and infinite druid love :)

@s7Anna - My weekend was incredibly busy but so much fun :)

@Cecile - You know my party is complete with you present!! The Beefcake men will be here Thursday to satisfy all your deviant senses LOL

  21. I saw and sighed as I read the quotes. Many familiar author's names popped out at me as I read. I want to offer one from my favorite author and her hot sexy Character- Roarke, my pick for the spring fling ball.
    "What time is it anyway?"
    "Nearly six."
"You probably have to get up."
"I'm liking where I am at the moment."
She smiled in the dark."I'm starving."
    "Are you now?"
"Seriously starving. I wish I had a damn fudge brownie."
"It isn't fudge your system needs."
"You want to bang again, ace, I need coffee first."
    And he thought, We're baaaack.

    Ah, just love that couple.
If Roarke isn't available I pick Rhage, as he could get the temperature up pretty fast too.

    alterlisa AT yahoo DOT com

  22. Ahhh!!! I absolutely LOVE the Rhage and Acheron quotes... I just love those two to begin with. They're just so sexy and hot but at the same time romantic *sighs dreamily*

Who would I take to spring fling... that's easy. I would take either Qhuinn or John from J.R. Ward... or even both ;D *grins evilly*

  23. Awesome quotes. My favorite quote is Acheron's. Love him. :)

  24. Those are some wonderful quotes! I particularly love Acheron and Rhage's words. For such bad boys, those two sure are great with the sweet talk.

    joderjo402 AT gmail DOT com

  25. I love the quote from Acheron. I recently re read the book. Love me some Ash.

  26. Woot! I can't wait for your romance spotlights on PATIENCE and ASSASSIN'S HONOR!

Don't count me in for the giveway. I have WAY too many books at the moment.

    Hugs, VFG

  27. ::climbs up on soap box:: There that's better. I adore the druid bindig vows from KMM's Highlander series. I would have used those as wedding vows if I had read them then. Le sigh. Who would I take to the dance? Any one of many kilted hunks: Dageus, Adam Black, Jamie Fraser...and maybe some un-kilted ones too: Keith from Cry Sanctuary, Ash Hunter from Dare to Surrender, Damon Roche from Sweet Persuasion, and any one of the Dunham series men from the Proviso and Stay by Moriah Jovan. All sigh worth heros.

  28. Great quotes! I just finished reading Loretta Chase's Lord of Scoundrel's for the first time and I think about every other page could be used for quotes because the dialogue and narrative were completely amazing. I would have a hard time picking just one to share.

  29. I love quote #9. It makes me feel warm and gushy inside :p

  30. I enjoyed the post and I especially liked the quote from C.L. Wilson – Queen Of Song And Souls.
Who would I take to the Spring Fling? I'd take Bones from Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series - if I could pry him away from Cat.

  31. i luv this post!!!

Rhage sucked in a breath. In all his adult life, no female had ever called him a friend. Or valued his company for something other than sex. In the Old Language, he whispered, "I am barren of words, my female. For no sound from my mouth are worthy of your hearing."

I am such a Rhage fan.His book was my actual first "romance" i ever read.....lemme tell ya i tthink i blushed so bad the characters could see it through the pages! LOL but my fav would have to be Rehvenge, from Lover Avenged. he had so many lines i loved!
"No matter what you wear...to me, you will always have diamonds on the soles of your shoes"
    Thanks for sharing hun!!!

  32. The quote from Acheron brings tears to my eyes. That was one of the hardest books to get through I've ever read. I waited forever for it and cried through the entire book.

  33. i love quotes too !
even this is the first time i read about all of them (they are all the new for me Author *grins*)

hey, no 2, catches my attention. that is a great quote !

  34. Great post! Love the quotes!

  35. Romance is my drug and Leontine is my dealer….

Now I have the itch to re-read all these books!

  36. I LOVE quotes! I actually have a notebook full of quotes I have collected. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another." --Unknown

"Heaven is not a place that you go to when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive." --The Spill Canvas

"A sucessful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person."
    --Mignon McLaughlin

    nancyecdavis AT bellsouth DOT net

  37. "In this one heartbeat, he was hers and she was his"

That is so beautiful....and although they are all wonderful....He's my choice.

coming in late 11pm left coast time.
    mitzihinkey at sbcglobal dot net

  38. Love the quotes. I know I've read some great ones over the years, but I never thought to write any of them down so have no idea what page to find them on til I reread the books.
Love the quote by Rhage, but then he is my fave of the brothers.

  39. *keymash* I miss Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series so much. I've read all their stories at least twice, and am basically twiddling my thumbs waiting for the next one.

I also love the C.L. Wilson quote: she has such a lyrical way with words, I love getting immersed in her world.

  40. You have a good selection here and such a very generous giveaway.

  41. Owh no, my first post got lost somehow, so retyping it here for remembering DANG!

Reading all those quotes made me realize how many great books I still have to read! I loved the fact you added a quote from Rhage's book. IMO that is one of the most romantic stories I read in the past few years *sigh*

For who I would bring to the Spring-Fling-Dance.... hmmm I suppose I'm not able to take my 15 weeks old pup now can I??? I know I know, don't give me the evil eye and telling me there are other alpha's out there... I'm going to have to settle for Raffaello Balzo, I love his... eyes...

  42. I just stumbled upon your blog by chance and wow, I'm glad I did, became your newest follower too!

What a great way to celebrate the best romances and love stories!

Ever since I was little, I kept copying out meaningful quotes from the books I read, good to see someone else also does it :-)

The Karen Marie Moning quote resonated in me, it is so poetic and beautiful, I HAVE to check out that series! I love everything which is set in Scotland/has Scottish heroes, love their sexy brogue too :-D

But the JR Ward quote! *shivers* "I am barren of words, my female. For no sound from my mouth are worthy of your hearing." wow, that is so powerful, so overwhelming!

I would like to ask either any of Monica McCarty's swoonworthy Scottish heroes or Mr. Darcy to accompany me to the ball. mmm.. :-)

Thank you for this wonderful giveaway, wow, I'm left speechless, so generous of you! Would LOVE to win them :-))

Thank you for making it international!

    stella.exlibris (at) gmail DOT com

  43. Great quotes! You made me go and read Acheron's story all over again!

Thanks for thinking about us Internationals :)

  44. I would take Gabe Rossiter from Pamela Clare's, Naked Edge, he's my latest (fictional) dreamboat bf, to the Spring-Fling Ball.

My favorite is the Lora Leigh quote but I must confess that I haven't read any of the titles that you quoted from. Will have to change that!

  45. I love the quotes you picked, especially from:
    Nauti Dreams
    Laid Bare
    The Daek Highlander

I always come across some amazing lines in a story, but never take the time to write them down. I tend to be so immersed in a story that I just can't put the book down long enough, lol.

  46. I love all the quotes! I would take Lucien from Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld :)

    throuthehaze at gmail dot com

  47. I loved Lover Eternal's quote. Rhage and how much he loved Mary is one of the things that made me love that book so much and also made it my favourite BDB book.

  48. I love Acheron's quote! I would take Jericho Barrons from the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning.

  49. I admire how organized you are in collecting quotes ;) I need to find me a system too.

I definitely would take Tor to the Spring-Fling Ball, although he probably has no interest in going with me, a girl ;)
I guess Rhage would make a good second!
*makes note to self* need to read some Ward books!

  50. i love todd's line from laid bare. don't know a thing about this book, but now i want to read it from the quote alone! that's powerful stuff!

  51. Hi Leontine,

I really enjoyed reading all the quotes!

My favorites are from from Acheron (Sherrilyn Kenyon) and Lover Eternal (J.R. Ward)!

    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  52. Those are some pretty good quotes. I've just followed a link from All Things Urban Fantasy's blog to here. Must say I'm really impressed by the number of blogs there are around dedicated to reading. It's really opening up a new world for me with authors to follow and books to be read.

I truely believe that these blogs can only be of benefit to both the authors and the readers. They give the authors some almost free publicity (almost in that I'm sure a number donate books for giveaways) and readers get to see what others think of a book almost a try before you buy thing.

And I'll let you know it works lol. Since finding the world of book blogs I've purchased more books than I would normally because I now have a list of books that people have recommended to buy lol.

  53. I am sad to say I haven't read anything by these authors. But I have heard good things. I really like the Lover Eternal quote. Isn't it nice to be appreciated? Haha!

    patronus89013 at yahoo dot com

  54. I found the quotes interesting but in the end I though "less is more" and found the quote from Lora Leigh – Nauti Dreams to be the one that I would probably remember in the future.

It really says everything that a woman would want to hear.

If I get lucky, I think the Book Depository option would be the best because postage to where I am is rather a lot. (South Africa)

Thank you very much for the giveaway.

    Carol T

  55. I love the quotes. I just recently started reading romance novels and I feel like I have missed out on so much!!! I have a lot of catching up reading to do.

  56. I love these quotes. I have not read, but four of SK's books, so I am far from Acheron, but it makes me want to read it next.
    Rhage's book was my favorite.
All of KMM Highlander's books make me weak in the knees.....Stacy

  57. I love these quotes, especially the ones from Acheron and Lover Eternal , because I'm reminded again how much I enjoyed reading them. When I had first began reading I used to write down quotes that I liked , but I haven't done that for a long time now.

  58. omg reading those quotes make me want to do a reread especially JR Wards and Sherrilyn acheron. both of them definitely need new books.

  59. lauren dane love her books
that a quoote i remeber such a great book
    great books for hte giveaway

  61. The Lauren Dane and Jr Ward quotes really stand out to me!! They are sooooo romantic :) All of them are great, thanks! I always want to write down my favorite quotes from books, but I never actually get around to it.

    inthehammockblog (at) gmail (dot) com

  62. Love is, above all, the gift of oneself. ~Jean Anouilh

  63. I'm actually surprised that I haven't read any of the books above but due to their steamy nature I'm definitely going to give them a try! Thanks for sharing your favorite quotes!

  64. I hope I'm not too late to the party!
One of my favourite lines from Shannon McKenna is "I'm bigger now" and it was in a novella Touch Me from I Brake for Bad Boys. The heroine is telling the hero that he has made her heart bigger and she is therefore free to love him. I thought it was very cool but it does lose something just on its own!!

I went to her website to check the name of the story and saw that she has a new book out in May - Fade to Midnight and it is Kev's book at last. Squee!!!

  65. I have to say that I have not read any of the books in the list, but just the glimpse of the quotes peeks my interest. I love a good romance. JR Ward is the name I recognize & jumps out at me.

  66. I hope I'm not too late, I'll just scream! There are aome great comments, qoutes and great book!

  67. I hope it's not to late to enter. You have such great books to giveaway and such great quotes. I love the one from Ash's book by Sherryln Kenyon but I also love the one from J. R. Ward's book

  68. These quotes are all so beautiful. I've only read a couple of the books mentioned, so it looks like I've got some catching up to do.

I just picked up the first Tairen Soul book. You included such a great quote, that now I'm really looking forward to reading that series.

  69. Wow I have read none of these books . where have I been hiding ?lol
    Great contest

  70. Wow!!! great compilation about romance quotes. Thanks for sharing.

I love to hear all your voices and opinions so thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
