The Perfect Play
Football pro Mick Riley is an all-star, both on the field and in the bedroom. But a sexy, determinedly single mom just might be the one to throw him off his game…
For years Mick has been taking full advantage of the life available to a pro athlete: fame, fortune, and a different girl in every city. But when he meets and beds confident, beautiful event planner Tara Lincoln, he wants much more than the typical one-night stand. Too bad Tara’s not interested in getting to know football’s most notorious playboy any better.
As the single mother of a teenage son, the last thing Tara needs is the jet-set lifestyle of Mick Riley; even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand was unforgettable. Tara’s life is complicated enough without being thrust into the spotlight as Mick’s latest girl du jour. Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn’t intend to put herself out there again, especially with a heartbreaker like Mick.
But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind.
Can I get your attention or are you experiencing a cover-gasm of magnitude, just like I had this morning. My body is still processing the aftershocks I tell ya, look at all that male splendor splashed all over this cover. Everything that is woman in me celebrates all that is male on the cover of Jaci Burtons new series' starter; THE PERFECT PLAY.
Now personally I like the idea of professional football players, baseball players and so on to be the hero and to provide a certain backdrop for the story to develop on. I heard friends of mine rave about Jill Shalvis' DOUBLE PLAY & SLOW HEAT, enough for me to be enticed to place them on my TBB list. Nevertheless, I somehow think this book is going to be the first one that I will read where a football pro is going to be the hero. I mean the summary is really triggering me and the cover is a huge incentive for my fantasy to go wild. I've already enjoyed a previous novel from Jaci Burton's hand and I know she can do wonderful things with the characters and a story. So my first book for 2011 is on my TBB list.
Did I get your attention at all?? Really! I'm shocked if I did LOL It took me ten minutes to come back to earth!
PS: This morning I heard the RT convention in 2011 is going to be in Los Angeles. *getting all dreamy here*
