The Smut On My Shelves & A Bookcase Giveaway!

The Smut On My Shelves & A Bookcase Giveaway!

~You can click on all the pictures for larger images~

This is one of those weeks where smut reigns my blog, Nick Gautier defended the PNR genre well but after that; smut, smut, smut that I’m posting. I started off with a bang in my opinion, Black Wade was going full monty in my review of his graphic novel and many found my blog that day to *achem* lurk around LOL…yeah I noticed you all, sneak peeking at the hawt pics of Black Wade and Jack Wilkins. I don’t blame y’all, staring at all that male splendor! Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about my bookshelves and the smut it houses. Many of you will know I just gotten myself two new floor-to-ceiling bookcases so my ever expanding TBR pile has a home. During my book move I came across many smutty books…

Maya Banks…I won UNBROKEN via twitter and very curious about her Sweet series. I still have to sample her smut level though *sigh*

Now this is a sight that makes my inner hussy purr; Erica Hayes brings a dark urban setting to life with faery creatures and mob vampires who crave various sides of the sensual senses that steam up the pages! Now Joey W Hill, gawd, do I need to say more? Vampires, Mermaids and Angels and a passion that has me reading the pages with bated breath. And then there are the cowboys of Lorelei James – I would say to any woman in the books: Yee-haw, ride ‘em wild, ride ‘em hard and ride ‘em long! To start on of these books is to finish it in one sitting!

Believe me when I say Shannon McKenna knows her smut, I was recently reminded with the story of Nick Ward (Extreme Danger) just how good she is with it!! You have to love a man who knows his foreplay *rowr*

Of course I also have e-bookshelves and my Ms. Paradisa is the guardian of my smutheaven.

Cherise Sinclair with Club Shadowland is patiently waiting on my ebook shelves, I just love the Dom/sub theme, that is why I also have Diana Hunter with Submission Revealed on it. Very good stuff.

Later this month I’m going to try Cassidy Hunter with Sanctuary, shapeshifters is another one of my favorite themes *grin* You gotta love the animalistic side of desires that can erupt of the pages *rowr*

And last but not least I have Cameron Dane with Grey’s Awakening & The Sweetest Tattoo on my e-book shelves. Grey’s Awakening is what I am going to start reading today and the blurb really made me heart beat a bit faster.

My real life bookshelves is something I can stare at, well, probably forever. These bookcases hold so many treasures and they turn my apartment in to a home. I don’t think my living room will be the same without the bookcases and the colorful covers that shine from the shelves. Even the recessed lighting at night set off my bookcases and bring more atmosphere to my living room. I can get all warm and tingly just looking at it LOL

What do I have for a giveaway? A four bookshelf high bookcase YAY

If you leave a comment with what kind of smut sits in your bookcases then you have a chance to win more shelf space, now what kind of book addict would say no to more shelf space, I wouldn’t *grin*

This giveaway closes at June 3rd 2010 upon which I will announce the winners in a couple of days. This giveaway is only open to US/Canadian residents.

  1. I think we might be smut kindred spirits. I see a lot of the same books on my shelves:)

I have more than one row dedicated to Lora Leigh, and if you haven't tried your Maya Banks books...you need to...like now. Her latest is definitely the most intense and over the top.

And Lorelei James....she was my best find last year. Then there's the Outlander series...I have several copies of each of Jamie and Claire's story (in case I wear them out I have backups or to share with someone who has never read them)

I also saw that you have Fade to Midnight on your shelves. Have you read it yet? I'm dying to read Kevin McCloud's story.

I recently added Pamela Clare to my TBR. She came highly recommended so I will be anxious to read them, and also picked up Sweet Caroline by Lissa Matthews based on Cecile's recommendation. Yep my ereader is even more packed than my bookshelves :)

Have a good one and thanks for sharing!

  2. I think the smuttiest books I have on my shelves are by Lora Leigh, and though I don't have them all and haven't read them yet, I have started collecting Joey W. Hill. I mean I have some pretty sexy stuff by authors such as, Jacquelyn Frank, Beatirce Small, Gena Showalter, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Lara Adrian, Linda Howard, Karem Marie Moning and the like. I have no M/M books just because they have no appeal to me (my twin however....)I guess softer smut is my gig. I have well over 1000 books in my collection, not counting the 200 or so audio books and not counting the 1000 or so I lost during Hurricane Wilma in 2005 ***sobs my heart out*** I LOVE books. So I guess I will call myself a baby smut. Who knows, as years go by, I may turn into a bigger smut that Leontine. Just give me a little time!!

And books like Mr. Benson (one of the best gay BDSM books ever), all of Heidi Cullinan's novels because she is THAT good, and tons others sitting in the floor just waiting for that wonderful bookshelf you are giving away. :)

  24. Of course there are the Laurenston books, Beth Williamson's Malloy Series, Lorelei James' McKay family series, and a goodly number of Ellora's Cave offerings. I find that most of the really good historicals have a fair amount of sexual tension, but whether that can be called Smut -- I wouldn't hazard a guess. Other authors on my shelf that write really hot stuff are Desiree Holt, Ruth Kerce, and Ryannon Byrd. I like a spicey story but sometimes there's just wall-to-wall sex which I wonder about, . . . Oh well . . .

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've got some Susan Lyons, Rachelle Chase, Jodi Lynn Copeland, Beth Kery, Ruth Kerce, Larissa Ione and a few others. Then there's the stuff that's not even labelled erotic...but is pretty much smut. I have a few ebooks that fit into that category too.

  28. My smuttiest books are amongst well odd company. I have my smut mixed among the stacks of YA books and Theology books. lol But my smut comes in the paranormal variety usually. I have the J.R Ward books all together. I also just started reading Victoria Dahl books because she does smut so well! One of her heroine's writes smut! She actually uses that word too.

  29. So many books, little space to fit them.

Several brava/aphosidia titles. I have not clue who they're buy. But I bought them at the beginning of the year when my Waldenbooks was going out of business.

    Tessa Dare's 1st series.

    Skin Game.

    Chloe Niell's series.

    Jaci Burton novels.

    Numerous Samhain titles.

    A bunch of historicals.

And many, many, many more. But that's just at the top of my head!

  30. You have lovely shelves L. But you know what yours lack that mine have plenty of these days? DUST! I was appalled at my dusty book shelves the other day but did I do anything about it? Nope. They are up in my bedroom where no one will see. hehe. I am an equal opportunity smutologist. I have contemporary, PNR, historical, GLBT, you name it. If I'm being honest though, most of the really smutty stuff is on my Kindle. :)

  31. What do I have on my bookcase? Hmmm...

I have Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworldseries (smutty)

As for my smut... oh well. *cough* I have JR Ward, Lauren Dane, Maya Banks. Then I have my gay smut like JL Langley, Manna Francis, Cleis Press books, erotica collections.

But then I have my secret shelves (behind bookshelf doors) that have smutty comics, VERY graphic like Black Wade or my Class Comics. Exploding graphic penis' even on the cover. Now those I would display proudly on such a bookcase :D.
