Lisa’s notes on Defender:

Readers will remember Torvald as the silent, watchful, “monkish” fellow from Immortal Outlaw and Immortal Champion. But what they don’t know is that Torvald holds his tongue because of the dark past he’s hiding from everyone, most especially from the other men in the crew. But now voluble, lustful widow Josian Delamere has invited him into her bed. A straightforward romp is just what Torvald needs to loosen him up a bit and make him turn loose of his past mistakes, but things are never straightforward in Elizabethan England, especially not when the lady’s father is one of the most infamous Catholic rebels in the land. Find out what sort of trouble Torvald lands in with Josian in August 2012.
Even for a prelimenary cover I find Immortal Defender already a coverlicious one! It is in the style of the previous covers in the Immortal Warrior series. Torvald is part of the Viking crew who got cursed to live forever as a were-creature...I would asume looking at the cover his is a stallion. Me likes this very much!! The only other were-stallion I know of resides in Kathryne Kennedy's Double Enchantment.

Angry and spoiled Danny Carlow struggles to find his place in the world when his hatred for authority makes survival difficult. The only thing that keeps him from completely giving up and turning to a life of crime is his friendship with clean cut Paul Mattling. More than his conscience and his best friend, Paul's also the one Danny secretly pines for with every ounce of his being.

Paul is a natural over achiever with a football scholarship and straight A's to boast about. Yet, Paul is haunted by an abusive childhood that's left him more scarred than anyone realizes. Looking for an escape from his demons, Paul has his own deviant secrets, ones he doesn't want anyone, especially Danny to know about.

When dark desires are accidentally revealed Danny and Paul end up coming together in a clash of wild passion more tumultuous than either of them could have anticipated. Tasting the forbidden is sweet, but it turns the tables on their relationship, putting everything, even their life-long friendship in jeopardy.
If there is one book that rocked my world last year it was Beyond Eden. I was beyond thrilled to come to understand Kele Moon was going to write a prequel to it with Paul and Danny. It instantly put this book on my most anticipated releases of 2011 list. There is no known release date yet but an excerpt is due soon :) YAY

Release in October 2011

Restless and impulsive, Bruno Ranieri has the temperament to fit right in with the McClouds. And just like the McCloud brothers, Bruno has a dangerous past to contend with—one that’s about to come crashing back into his life…

Bruno Ranieri has always lived at a chaotic pace, and that goes double lately. Since his uncle’s untimely demise, Bruno is working himself to the bone, trying to keep his nose clean and save the family business. Not easy when the nightmares that plagued his childhood are hi-jacking what little rest he gets.

So when exotically beautiful Lily Parr sashays into his all-night restaurant, claiming to be on the run from mysterious assassins, Bruno starts to wonder if sleep deprivation is finally getting to him. Especially when Lily implies that Bruno is involved. But the violence that accompanies her arrival is no illusion. Nor is the blisteringly hot, completely inconvenient desire that explodes between them.

Lily Parr has been a fugitive ever since her father’s death a month ago in a mental hospital. Officials claimed it was suicide, but Lily’s gut—and the savage murder attempt she barely escaped afterwards—say different. Snippets of information led Lily to Bruno’s door...and his magnetic charisma compelled her right into his bed. But there are cold-blooded killers on her heels, with resources as limitless as their cruelty.

Running won’t help, not when the biggest threat is the terrifying secret lurking in Bruno and Lily’s pasts. A secret their mysterious enemy will gladly destroy them to protect—unless they can uncover it first...
Even though I still have to read #7 Fade To Midnight in the McCloud & Friends series the summary of Blood and Fire already rises my blood pressure. Mckenna is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors who knows how to write great, sexy but flawed men, likable heroine's and a plot that stirs me every single time. The villian is the epitome of evil and I can never wait till he/she gets his/her comeuppance!!

So far October looks like it's going to be a great release month!!

Release is November 29th 2011

As an angel of death, Keenan’s job is to collect the souls on his list. He’s carried out his duty for two thousand years and never faltered once. Until he meets Nicole St. James. When the moment of death comes, Keenan hesitates, and instead of taking Nicole, Keenan touches the vampire who’s attacking her.
Cast out of heaven for disobedience, Keenan plummets to earth. Six months later, he finally manages to track Nicole to a bar in Mexico. He’s stunned to discover that the woman he remembers has undergone a dramatic change—she’s become a vampire. And when he realizes that she’s the target of all manner of enemies—other vampires, demons, even shifters—he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her, even if all hell breaks loose…

I'm really likin' this cover. The light versus the darkness, the beefake prominent in the picture and the blurb tickles the fancy as well. I remember, once upon a time, to have read a story of cynthia den but I think I will reacquaint myself with this author via Angel Of Darkness :)

As curios as I ever am; What's on your wishlist? For some reason my e-book wishlist is a mile long but my print wishlist is only 4 books o.O This is wrong on so many levels!! So please, speak up, what have I been missing?

  5. @Mandi - I think you're referring to the cover of Finding Eden? I find both Eden covers a tad unusual but somehow they are recognizable and they have same vibe, which I always *heart* consistancy always works for me :)

@Twimom227 - I still have to start the Guardian series by Meljean Brooke - I have all the books but haven't read them yet and i'm annoying myself I say this about many authors/series/books! Can the day have more hours! ;)

@Aurian - you are so organized!! I let is slip away from me and need to get starting again! Thanks for sharing ;)

    @blodeuedd - woohoo!

  6. Lisa Hendrix has such great covers! I've really loved all of them so much - can't wait for this next book.
